Crash investigators search for answers for San Francisco 777 crash

Air crash investigators are continuing to look for the cause of the crash of a Boeing 777 in San Francisco, California, which happened at the weekend (6/7/2013). Two teenagers were killed and around 180 people were injured, many of them seriously, when Asiana Airlines flight 214 crashed onto the runway.
The National Transportation Safety Board in the US has published a series of pictures of the aftermath of the crash, including the external wreckage and an interior shot showing oxygen masks hanging from the ceiling of the cabin and seats bent.

World’s biggest airliner arrives at Heathrow

British Airways has taken delivery of the UK’s first double-decker superjumbo. Yesterday the 530-ton Airbus A380, one of 12 ordered by BA in a £5billion investment, landed at Heathrow to huge cheers from flag-waving staff, including cabin crew, ground crew and office staff.
BA’s chief executive Keith Williams was on board for the occasion. He said: “It is a fantastic aircraft and our customers are going to love it. “This exciting delivery opens a new chapter in BA’s history.”

BA jumps onboard for Disney’s new movie ‘Planes’

Disney is launching a new 3D animated movie called ‘Planes’ this summer and British Airways is a headline sponsor for the launch.
Planes is due to hit UK cinemas on August 16, 2013. The promotional campaign starts July 14 and will build over the summer.

BA lists Top 100 Films that Inspire Travel

In a recent survey of 2,000 people, British Airways found that nearly 40% of us have been influenced to travel by a film. Adventure drama ‘The Beach’ was named the most inspiring movie overall, men nominated ‘The Hangover’ as their number one choice, and the over 45s voted for romantic comedy ‘Shirley Valentine’.
British Airways has now compiled its ‘Top 100 Films that Inspire Travel’, to mark the launch of its pop up film event – Silent Picturehouse.

Emirates to open London visitor attraction in July

Emirates is to open a permanent indoor aviation museum and ‘interactive experience’ in London this July.
The ‘Emirates Aviation Experience’ will be the first such attraction in the world, and will feature the world’s first public-facing commercial flight simulators. It’s hoped the attraction will entertain London’s visitors as well as promote aviation

This looks and sounds like a great way to start to a flight, even if it had been delayed by three hours. Passengers and cabin crew waiting on the tarmac in Beijing were treated to this high quality musical interlude.

Heathrow too expensive and overcrowded say aviation bosses
