Hi I’m Eilidh and I’m 18 years old. I’m currently studying nursing but feel like the career just isn’t for me. I’ve always wanted to be part of the air cabin crew but would just like more information on what it’s really like as a job. Please help as I’m trying to do a career change but do feel worried as my family were proud of me doing nursing. Just don’t want to let anyone down but feel what I want to do and that is be a flight attended I feel is important aswell.

How far are you into your nursing course? If you could finish it, it would give you an alternative career, if flying is not for you or if the aviation industry doesn't pick up in coming years to it's normal level. Also, nursing is a very complimentary career to cabin crew and will help you when you learn aviation medicine/advanced first aid.

I would advise reading through some of my articles in the career advice section above - to give you more information about the job and how to proceed with applications - it can take anywhere from 6 months to a few years to get a job as cabin crew (and even longer now during covid) so you might consider continuing with your studies, doing the research and starting the application process for cabin crew at the same time and then everything just may fall into place... By the way, if you were thinking to change your studies to a cabin crew course, you really don't need to as you will learn everything you need to know when you start training with the airline
Hope this helps!
