Aer Lingus Manchester summer 2021

The project might be quiet but it isn't dead. Just last week the Antigua Tourism minister confirmed Aer Lingus had approached them last week to begin flying routes to the island from Dublin and Manchester. Watch this space, I guess.

Evening everyone

Hope all is well, is there any update on this recruitment drive? Currently overly interested in the Aer Lingus Manchester base...

BUT

I'd like to now more about pay, and potential rostering if anyone has any idea of these, that'd be awesome, as I need to compare with my current position..........

stay safe

There isn’t any information for you and none of it has been confirmed. Nobody knows when the routes will launch or when the aircraft are coming. No dates for flights so can’t offer much of a roster pattern. No idea on pay. It might be similar to the parent company model but nobody knows anything yet.

Whilst there has been no official statement from Aer Lingus, they have posted two new jobs on their site looking for airworthiness engineers based in Manchester. The job has a little about us on the job description surrounding the Manchester base.

"Aer Lingus has recently announced details of its first-ever transatlantic services from Manchester, flying direct to New York JFK, Orlando and Boston in 2021. We are now looking to build our CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation) team and as a result, we have a great opportunity for a CAMO specialist to join our Engineering Team. This role will be based in Manchester, UK."

Excited to see if recruitment opens for crew soon.

So I’ve looked at the requirements for the role and I’m confused as to why your attestation has to be issued after April 2014? My attestation was issued in 2010 and I’ve since used it to join two other airlines. Attestations don’t expire, unless you don’t fly for over 5 years. Can anyone shed any light on this as it doesn’t seem to make any sense. Cheers x

Same for the fact that it must have been issued by the U.K. while easa attestations are still accepted by caa untill the end of mmm 2022 . There is no way to convert it yet . Just weird

I don’t understand the 2014 attestation criteria either. I received my UK attestation in 2013 but in 2018 I changed airline and had to complete a full initial course not a conversion, meaning I have completed an initial course post 2014 , however only those crew with no flying experience received a hard copy of an attestation, those of us with prior flying experience were told we didn’t need one due to having received attestations from our previous airlines
I am still going to apply for Aer Lingus based on my initial course in 2018.

Aren’t we revalidating our Attestations through annual recurrent?

You don’t receive a new attestation every time you complete a full initial course. Your original attestation remains yours throughout, until it expires, and recurrent doesn’t have any effect on your attestation.

Out of interest, do we think this is a long term project or
just a summer season?
