#2  advice on starting new career/job?!  Posted 02/05/2016 at 13:17
Hello everyone,
I am really interested in working as a passenger service agent/ticketing agent in gatwick or heathrow.
I dont have a background in either customer services or aviation at all but am passionate about travel and tourism and have always wanted to try something in this line of work.
Does anyone experienced here know of any entry level/trainee airport/airline jobs? I am 30 now so not sure if would be eligible for anything like that
I have looked on easyjet website but can only see jobs for cabin crew. I am not sure if meant to apply directly to an airline or an agency.
Would I be able to get into this industry without experience or a degree? I have been a nanny/nursery nurse for past 8 years but would love to change my career
Thanksin advance for any advice

It's never too late to change your career and make a change! A lot of the ticketing ground staff are employed through Swiss port or other ground agencies, I know my local airport are Swiss port as a lot of jobs came up but they were part-time so no good for me, Qatar also advertised for desk agent in my local airport which I applied for. I would just search the internet, airport websites, and different airline websites.
I think it is an advantage if you have customer service experience obviously and a lot will ask for it but it shouldn't deter you
