Flight attendants learn Kung Fu in fight against terrorism

Flight attendants in China are getting to grips with martial arts, undergoing combat training specifically designed for a cabin crew environment. The idea is that being equipped in ancient Kung Fu skills will help to keep the skies safe.
Attendant trainees at Sichuan Southwest Vocational College of Civil Aviation, in the city of Chengdu in China's Sichuan province, are learning Kung Fu in addition to the more typical in-flight duties, according to China Daily.

Trainee cabin crew were put through their paces last Wednesday when they came to the aid of casualties involved in a car crash near Worthing, UK.
Emergency services arrived on the scene shortly before 7pm.

New training institute for Jet2 cabin crew

Low cost airline Jet2 has announced that it has joined up with Newcastle College to train its cabin crew.
More than 200 employees each year will undertake tailored training with Jet2, which results in them achieving a minimum qualification of NVQ level two.

Virgin Atlantic is the first airline in the UK to train its Cabin Crew to spot and report signs of human trafficking on its flights.
The staff were provided with special means of identifying those who may be engaged in trafficking and their potential victims and how to report them to the authorities before arrival in the UK – so far the scheme has been dubbed as a big success.
