Hey Bubbly Guy,
I'm new to this type of forum, so forgive me if I've missed something. I've made it past the VB assessment day (held in Perth last week) and have received an e-mail telling me that I'll be updated on a fortnightly basis. What usually happens from here on? As the e-mail states, I am still not guaranteed a position. What's the order of things from now on?
Cheers,
Eeram :-) |

| From being progressed after the VRD you have your referees contacted and checked. If you pass that then the medical and also you must provide details that prove you have all your certificates and qualifications current to meet Virgin Blues requirements. If all goes well you then get a job offer. :) |

| Thanks for your quick reply, bubblyguy ... Do you mind me asking what the medical examination involves? With regard to certificates, I had had to show my RSA and Senior First Aid at the VRD ... Are these the certificates you were referring to? |

The medical examination involves everything basically. Nothing internal but quite a full on examination of most things and of course they do have an alcohol and drug screening as part of it.
The certificates can only be within certain date ranges. Off the top of my head SFA needs at least 12 months, CPR needs at least 6 months (you are more than likely doing to need to do a Perform CPR course at St Johns if you haven't done your SFA recently) and also your RSA with 12 months but note that some RSA certificates never expire (yay lol).
Edit: Forgot to add, you will be required to write down your FULL medical history. This includes any medical issues you have had, surgery/operations, conditions etc so be prepared. You have to write down how long for and also when it took place. Lots of writing on the medical forms. It almost seems never ending all the forms you will do.

Thanks, bubblyguy ... I've got a non-expiring RSA and I only obtained my SFA a few months ago, so they should be fine ... |
