Hi all,
I would love a cabin crew job but wonder if my age would go against me. I'm 51, a Registered Nurse who speaks two languages, and healthy and fit. Should I bother applying?

Hi there,

No, there is never an age that is 'too old'! As long as you meet all the requirements (can swim 25m, can reach to a certain height etc) you'll be fine.

Good luck!

Never to old
I'm 37 an Enrolled Nurse and giving it a go.
When I did my training as an EN there was a 60 year old training and she got a job as a nurse.
i think they look at life experience and what you can bring to the role.

You may as well know this now then. You'll be taking a big pay cut to be cabin crew. Starting salary is only $650 pw + o'night allowance of $105 a night. Half of the flying out of Perth is day trips though, so you won't be getting that many overnights per month.
If you don't like your life, you're not living it right.

Enrolled Nurses don't get paid alot - even though we work the same hours and only do 3 things less then Registered nurses

Plus I want to increase my working hours, but don't want to where I currently work on a high volumne turnover surgical ward, I can see myself burnt out with in another year. Nursing is full on and me being an EN do the same work and get hardly anypay for it. I have reached the top of where I can go with out going back to Uni, and I feel cabin crew can venture into different roles after ie training etc supervisor

Hi guys,

do Virgin Australia have any DTA...pay from when you sign on to sign off or is it just $104 for overnights?

Is anyone else out there waiting for a Perth ground school in the new year and not heard anything? I had to turn down a start date on the 17th nov and now I'm waiting to be contacted again for next years groundschool. I have emailed a few times and tried to find out whats going on but I've had no reply.

Just have to keep waiting I suppose and maybe might get some movement after the AD on the 20th Dec.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

anyone who currently flies out of Perth tell me roughly how many overnights you'd get a month?

Thanks so much

Hmm, not too sure to most of your questions, but i did hear on the radio this morning that some airline (i think maybe tiger??) are recruiting cabin crew at the moment. I'm in Adelaide though, so not sure if it's just our city or Australia wide.
