Hello I have worked for BA as cabin crew for 28 years and yes BA do provide men with long sleeved shirts and as long as it does not show through the shirt you will not be penalised for having them. If you want any further advice about your AD or applications - please visit us @ gocabincrew.com

Good luck and please don't worry!

BA are very strict about" visible" tattoos and you cannot wear a plaster every time you go to work, especially if it comes off! It depends on how important getting the job is to you if you want to keep your tattoo!

The airline has strict image ethics which makes it stand out against its competitors. e.g. no bitten finger nails, tidy clean hair, one type of stud ear ring, only 2 rings (one a wedding band), hair tied back if below the collar, clean shoes, subtle make up, ironed shirts, female shoes a certain height for the heel, etc etc. If you are someone who rebels against standards and regulations this is not the job for you.

Hi I am seeking some advice regarding tattoos (not a lecture)

I have a quite light tattoo of a rose on my wrist, an inch from the joint so it is hidden in a shirt. It can be covered with specialist make-up which I used for my AD. When I was asked if I had any visible tattoos I panicked and said NO. I have my training coming up in the next 3 months and am going for a consultation to get it removed however it needs 5 sessions and 7 weeks between each session.
Could I possibly leave it aside for a while and keep covering it ?
Are there any others working for BA who have been in this situation and the company have been a bit more lenient?
Is it impossible for a women to always wear long sleeve shirts and cover her wrists and would it be necessary to cover it during 6 week training.

Thanks in advance for anyone who answers this post, it would be a great help

You can choose the long sleeve option but it might be a bit hot for you sometimes.
If you are getting it removed, you can buy some short sleeved ones when it has gone.

Get it removed ASAP is my advice and keep it covered during your course as a tattoo on the wrist should really have been discussed at the interview.

Thankyou "Little minx" I'm just a bit worried that through the healing process it will be hard to cover with camouflage make-up. But I shall try my best.

Thanks again

hi, I have a quarter sleeve started which wouldnt be visible through a long sleeve shirt, just wondering are they ok with females with sleeve tattoos (top half)? I have my AD in a few days. I also have small scars from piercing on my lip from years ago. I already work for an airline and havn't had any issues but just worried now from reading through the posts. Thanks!

Hi i have a tattoo on my wrist tht could possibly be covered by wearing a long sleeve shirt. Would tht be ok? I also have a small tattoo on my ankle, is it an option to cover tattoos with make up? I can get special make up to cover them so they are not visible at all. Any advice would be greatly appreciated??
