Good luck and please don't worry!
The airline has strict image ethics which makes it stand out against its competitors. e.g. no bitten finger nails, tidy clean hair, one type of stud ear ring, only 2 rings (one a wedding band), hair tied back if below the collar, clean shoes, subtle make up, ironed shirts, female shoes a certain height for the heel, etc etc. If you are someone who rebels against standards and regulations this is not the job for you.
I have a quite light tattoo of a rose on my wrist, an inch from the joint so it is hidden in a shirt. It can be covered with specialist make-up which I used for my AD. When I was asked if I had any visible tattoos I panicked and said NO. I have my training coming up in the next 3 months and am going for a consultation to get it removed however it needs 5 sessions and 7 weeks between each session.
Could I possibly leave it aside for a while and keep covering it ?
Are there any others working for BA who have been in this situation and the company have been a bit more lenient?
Is it impossible for a women to always wear long sleeve shirts and cover her wrists and would it be necessary to cover it during 6 week training.
Thanks in advance for anyone who answers this post, it would be a great help
If you are getting it removed, you can buy some short sleeved ones when it has gone.
Get it removed ASAP is my advice and keep it covered during your course as a tattoo on the wrist should really have been discussed at the interview.
Thanks again
