The trouble is also that plasters can be unhygeinic and we are food handlers.
I am surprised that so many people have them and it is sad that a stupid mistake can prevent people getting the career they dream of. |

yes, I am in exactly the same situation. Although my ankle tattoo could be covered by makeup, a plaster and tights BA have still told me that I need to have it removed. I have my consultation at Bolton Hospital on Monday and they said that treatments start from £30 per session and because Mine is tiny and just outlined, it should only take one treatment so I am happy. I would probably pay up to £100 max to get it done though. Your tattoo on your wrist can't be that big so have a look around a legit places and get it done. Its worth it if the tattoo doesn't really mean much anyway because I feel like my tattoo got me knocked out of the emirates interview too.

Aww that's a shame!
I went for my consultation yesterday and the nurse said it will probably take about 5-6 months which isn't that bad, as it will be around July/ Aug time. Hopefully I would be able to start training in July or around that time.
I am trying to get in contact with BA but can't get through to the lady I need to speak to. I just hope they can guarantee me a job at the end of it as I don't want to get it removed and pay for it if I haven't got a job at the end of it.

Tell me about it Baby Jack! I was 18 and it was my first sense of freedom and doing what I wanted without my parents permission!
It goes without saying at how much I regret it now and the worst thing is my parents..... "we told you so..." arrrr

I Have My Nans name on my wrist, its very small and pretty faint. i cover it sometimes with MAC Foundation and you cannot see it at all. also when i wear a watch it completely covers the whole tattoo. i have an assessment day coming up and i am nervous about the tattoo. can anyone help? also i have a tattoo on each foot but this shouldn't be a problem as i will be wearing socks and shoes. and on my calf but will be wearing pants at all times. Just my wrist that is making me a little worried |

If its visible then it is a definite no unless you have it removed. If a watch strap covers it and the watch conforms to corporate uniform guidelines then it will be ok. The main point is that it must not be visible at any time whilst on duty on in uniform. The same goes for tongue piercings ie a big no no |
