hey Matt
You sound like a good friendly guy so I am sure you will have no problems. In my previous BA life as crew I met loads of lovely people on my training course who were from all over the UK and many of them became good friends and still are now 7 years later ! Some flat shared together and I am sure you will meet some lovely crew on trips to swap numbers with and hook up with. Again when I was on Eurofleet I met some great people and made some friends too.
So you'll be absolutely fine ! Enjoy it you'll have a great time !

| When you recieve your password for ess, then you will get the access to the up to date uniform prices as they fluctuate with the price of cotton ect, so best waiting till your ready to order. The other way is calling before your uniform fitting and find out the price and purchase the items on your uniform fitting appointment. |

In regards to the flag on the name badge, at what level must we be able to speak before applying for the flag.

Jake
When you order your name badges you say which languages you speak and it is done for you. There is no test as you know if you are fluent or not. |

| So, must we be able to speak fluently? I can hold a basic conversation in the language + greet/assist/help a French speaking passenger. It's just, I wouldn't consider myself fluent. It's more basic. |

Most people are fluent as until a few years ago it was an entry requirement. If you are confident in speaking a language and can hold a conversation then I would request the flag but if it is basic school language best not to as if a customer say spoke French and you had the French flag then the customer expects you to be able to converse with them |

| Just be aware though, this happened in my current airline, the guy passed the test to get the flag on his name badge (which was pretty simple he told me) but was left baffled and a little embarrassed when someone tried to speak to him in that language and he only spoke basic or conversational. |

I'm going to start looking into booking a room somewhere for my training course this week. I start on 5 April.
Does anyone have any recommendations on the best places to look at?
I know that some people are going for a Travelodge as there's a staff discount, but I don't know which one would be best or if a B&B would be a better option. |
