You said "the truth is out there people"...that's right,it was all the time, reason the militants were defeated in shame, reason rumours like that die in few weeks as our cabin crew credibility is on the dole with Duncan Holley.Enough with the rhetoric.Whoever made that decision to use the MF,did it because BASSA once again refused to compromise and would come at a great cost to the customers who would have to layover there.Doesn't take a genius...

It is good to see today's joint statement from all parties that there is now a change in the agreements and WW crew will in future be operating the flights where instances such as this occur; taking reduced rest and being given appropriate payment and time offwhich will be banked appropriatly. Good news to see that the company and union are working together putting the customer at the heart of this so they face least disruption and ensuring existimg WW crew have the stability and security knowing that there is now an amended agreement in place and adhoc route operations by other fleets will now be discussed first. Well done to all concerned a great Win Win for the customer the company and the crew.

The vast majority of us have now moved on and it is time to leave all the playground squabbles behind. This is 2012 now .

That's a great result, just goes to show how a little bit of negotiation pays off.

Thats great news - amazing what can be achieved with negotiation and not imposition!

This incident would never have happened in the first place

Close but not cigar? I believe the agreement says BASSA will be given the choice to let WW crew take reduced rest and increased payment. If they refuse then MF operate the service. A subtle but quite important difference.
RIP BASSA & CC89. A tawdry sell out to end it all.

LOL.. depends which channel you're listening to, BASSA FM or Galley FM! If you're not a horsey person, don't worry, it'll be cats and dogs by tomorrow

Never let a good yarn get in the way of the truth eh?

Agreed!! Indeed it does!!
Such a shame that certain “elements” had not learnt that lesson a few years ago: their failure to do so has decimated the careers of thousands of our cabin crew, now having zilch potential for promotion and left to “wither on the vine.” Truely an opportunity lost. However, it would be very wise for ALL of us to remember that lesson this coming Autumn: methinks our very best NEGOTIATORS will be needed, however, we get the negotiators that we vote for.

Just for clarification, it’s my understanding that the trip would be OFFERED to WW first, if they decline it goes to MF. .
Have a great day

What is all this talk of 'after the Olympics' and 'this autumn'?

There's plenty of speculation but no-one on here has posted just what is apparently going to happen.
