At 189 cms tall I seem to be above the maximum height requirements of most airlines. Can anyone tell me how strictly this is enforced, or which airlines do not have a maximum height policy?

Hi there, most of the middle eastern airlines such as Emirates, Eithad, Qatar do not have a max height restrictions they simply have a reach test to see if you can reach a certain height, i know Qantas does have a restriction i think its 6 foot 1 for men? but when i went to my Qantas interviews a few of the men there were slightly above the height, but they still made it through all the rounds.
Air NZ just has a minimum height of 160cm which is 5''3, but they do not have a max height.
Virgin Australia does not have any height restrictions, as I'm about the start my training with them in Feb 2012, and i meet all the minium requirements for height for all airlines as im around 5''4.
Dont stress just apply they dont focas heavily on it, as long as you can fit in the seats etc its all for safety

Hey I have the same problem! I'm 6 foot 4 (193cm) and I've been applying to the airlines both here in the UK and in Australia. I have an interview with British aiways coming up, and apparently it's their policy to check the heights first thing, then send you packing if you don't meet the requirements... So if I don't get a job in the UK, it's back to Aus where my ex (who worked for Jetstar and now works for VA) says there is heaps of people taller than me... Hope you get through with the height, but you should do if there's plenty of taller ones on the Aussie airlines!!!

Well, some girls look at the guy's personality too. If the guy's personality is good then she'll accept the guy even if he is shorter than her. But some girls can't accept that because they' think of what will their child look like if they get married
