HI Barbiesmith,

I know many people have said they recieve an email the day before the OD..
If that helps

What did your email say?
Was it the initial 'thank you for your application, we will be in touch....' one?
Well many people turn up at OD without even registering so i really wouldnt worry honey |

i'm wondering about the contract you sign with EK after you get the GC. when exactly do you sign the contract? is it right after GC? after medicals? how exactly do you sign the contract? will they snail mail the papers to you?
i read somewhere on this forums that you have 6 months to join EK after you sign the contract. which means you can post pond your DOJ within a 6 months period right? but i'm not sure when will a contract be signed...
thanks to anyone who answers!! |

Originally posted by muxu11thanks for your reply LittleEmma, i went out and bought another pair of sensible shoes. now they look like this
possibly the most boring shoes i have ever bought but they are professional with a sturdy low heel. i almost ended up buying a pair of patent black plain court shoes with a thinner 3 inch heel, but wasn't sure if patent would be too glossy. sigh, better safe than sorry.
another question about casual photos. gosh, i have so many questions, haha.
just how casual is too casual? i don't mean looking like you are getting wasted or like a table dancer, but are there some poses that just seems too "out there"?
Your new shoes look fine. I'm sure you would have been fine with a higher or thinner heel, provided they were work shoes and not ones you'd wear to a party. But these ones are perfect, just smart normal court shoes.
Re photos, I'd just go for a full-length pose standing up straight facing the camera so they can see how you look, not trying to look too edgy. |

| If you don't mind let me share this with you. At the OD i attended they advise that you casual photo be one that shows some sort of your personality. Something like you playing with your dog of skiing.(but be sure to have a million dollar smile in the pics). They said my first set of casual photos was too posy. So I e-mailed them new ones similar to what I described above. |

| oh that's an interesting advise! makes me feel better about my "exagerated pose" picture cause i think it shows my personality pretty well. i also have a street style photo taken for a website and another one of me standing in front of a mannequin at a fashion exhibition. |
