a person like me with a height of 156cm and without experience can apply as a cabin crew in emirates? I'm graduated a Diploma of Hospitality management and I want to try to apply as a cabin crew. I have also a tattoo (right arm) but it will not visible when I'm wearing a sleeve or 3/4 sleeve top.

You need to reach 212cm on your tiptoe.. try holding a pencil in your hand and mark on a wall. see how high you can get.. will be better if you have any customer care experiences, for they ask questions about your past job etc.. I dont think the recruiters care about what degrees you have.. and if your tattoo is not visible, then it'll be ok.. :D

hmm... I guess cabin crew jobs take a lot of attention on their appearances. I think I haven't seen any flight attendants who need to go on diet... Fit and slim might be preferred..

As far as I know, there is no arm reaching test on OD.. it usually takes place on AD.. so once you're called for the AD (after submitting your CV on OD), first thing they'll do is the arm reach test. You just to need to reach one arm to the height of 212cm. They do this test to see if you can close and open overhead lockers, and get any other emergency tools from a top drawer or something. Average of 160cm can reach 212cm without any problem :D

There is an open day this friday here in Auckland, 18 may 2012. I tried to reached the 212cm in one hand and tiptoes. I actually did it almost. I reached with my middle finger. Is the Emirates going to consider that?

About the Emirates uniform, I saw their latest uniforms they're so gorgeous and very professional. but if I will apply for this role, I'm concern about my tattoo in my arm, I don't think that the short sleeve of emirates uniform will cover my tattoo because the sleeve is too short. Is there any that the emirates can do 3/4 sleeve instead of short sleeve?

Apparently, Emirates dont have 3/4 length sleeve. If your tattoo is at a visible spot that cant be hidden by uniforms, that might be a problem... Where about arm is it? The uniform sleeve comes down to around mid length between shoulders and elbows.
btw, Im going to the OD as well on Fri 18th!! |
