There's now an organized system for travelers and flight attendants to make extra money while flying.

A friend of mine works for American Airlines and every time she flies to South America, she'll will deliver something for a shopper and get paid a percentage of the product price. She delivered a 160GB memory card, which is about the size of a quarter, and received $80 (it was a very expensive film chip) after meeting the local right outside the EZE Airport in Buenos Aires. Many international products aren't manufactured in South America making their prices extremely high. This online platform allows shoppers to buy with prices like, so they are willing to tip the traveler since they are still saving loads of money.

The easiest website I know of is called Entrusters.

Does anybody know of other services similar to this?

Sounds like a great way to smuggle drugs or Intel.
