With today's announcement about unpaid leave for all fleets including LGW very doubtful that there will be new recruits for a while longer.

I apologise for putting new routes on here. I really did think it was going to happen since the information was confirmed to me. I was only trying to help people who are desperate to join and give them a bit of hope.

Sorry.

Thing is BAstewardess, things change so quickly and by the time the summer schedule is finalised, who knows, you may have been right after all....normally there isn't smoke without some kind of fire.

This is true but considering the MRU rumour had been doing the rounds since, what? 2007? Maybe the rputes will appear in 2015? The other error was mentioning options, LGW doesn't get new a/c, they're filtered down from premium heavy routes at LHR so lgw gets the displaced aircraft, unused BA 'options' include airbus a320 series, 777-300's, a380's and 787's. The 77w's are replacjng fuel guzzling 744's at lhr, not leisure dense routes at lgw. I know new routes are exciting but try not to get wrapped up in wildly speculative gossip :)

hi ba stewardess.. yes i was excited at first with your post with the new routes info , but now im really worried about my start date for jan2012? looks negative for lgw, from looking at these posts, i hope i get a start date, otherwise it will be the biggest dissapointment of my entire life, imagine u get offered a job after a intense ad, then your successful, then yr on hold, then u dont know if u going to start with the company. i just have to keep wating a bit longer i suppose, will hopefully find out nov time i reackon, as its 8-10 lead time told by ba recruit.

It must be false!

Firstly, Goa is a winter destination!

Well done in getting so far!

Now concentrate on what you're doing right now and wait for your time, i know its hard but it will come!

Contract decreases during winter are actually fairly common.

The other thing you have to consider is that new crew are cheaper than old crew, by reducing equivalent head count at the top of the scale it actually frees up cash to pay for more new entrants on cheaper contracts!
