Originally posted by kw84I was successful at LGW AD but still waiting for a training date, is there anyway of asking to be moved to MF if it means starting sooner?
They are 2 different jobs
Those who applied for LGW applied for a 7 month contract
MF LHR is a permanent position and it is a different recruitment
MF at LHR isn't for a temporary contract like LGW |

Phone up and ask them, it won't upset them, then you will hear it from them and not people guessing on here.
You never know what will happen.
As has been mentioned before. LGW crew were promised part time and if lots take it, that will open up contracts for all of you.
Just stay positive.
This does happen at BA from time to tie but ultimately like last year, people did eventually start.
Stay strong and don't be afraid to ask them. |

I was considering the exact same thing yesterday, that is the reason I called them to start with. If they have offered us the job and there are no places at lgw but they are still recruiting crew for lhr maybe its possible. I say give it a few weeks and wait for the 'operational review' to finish and if we still havent heard anything ask no harm in that I think Im going to i think when did u have ur ad, how long have u been waitging? Im thinking positive im sure we will hear something eventually just got to keep our fingers crossed xx |

There is no harm in calling as Little Minx says. You may find you have to start again and wait till recruitment opens again for LHR MF.
The 2 bases ie LHR and LGW run their own different recruitment and you didn't apply for a permanent position. The only contract advertised for LGW was a fixed 7 month contract so the contract ends after 7 months.
LHR MF is for and to date always has been for permanent contracts.
Last year those in the LGW ' pool ' were offered a one off supplementary interview For LHR MF but that does necessarily follow that it will happen again hence why it is best to call the recruitment team.
LGW is a fixed 7 month contract
LHR is a permanent cabin crew contract
Good luck and I'm sure you will get there |

This sounds a bit more promising! I applied to Virgin as well being as they have opened up 500 positions (that are permanent.)
Hopefully a sound back-up plan! |

When did you have your AD day? I'm going to give it a few weeks and then try and phone them, but I couldn't find a number? Would you mind passing me the number that you have?
Many thanks!! :) |

hiya, I had my AD on 24th November 2011, then I had my successful confirmation on Monday 28th, I then had my start date come through on the 16th December and start april 11th :) when was your ad day? x
Oooh number is: 0870 608 0747 give them a call :)
I also applied for both roles one at LGW for 7 month and also the Heathrow perm contract, and was given two interviews, unaware of not being allowed to apply for both. I went on my first interview for LGW of which was successful and then I was called to confirm my interview for my Heathrow interview on 15th December, I attended this and also was successful, I then called them and they said it was a system error and therefore I cannot apply for both, so they are withdrawing my permanent contract at Heathrow and I was still offered LGW 7 month which of course I still took. :) |
