I am quite sure 95% of bmi crew will go to EF. Been asking everybody I fly with and so far I heard of only 2 crew choosing MF because of the LH routes and promotion opportunities.
It's no-brainer , even if we seat at home all month on standbys we will take home the same money MF crew takes after working a lot.

I agree! I think BA will have a bit of a shock when they realize how many crew have registered interest in mf although, I think it is only fair to have all the information available to us before we have to decide!

Thanks for that information. Interesting to hear.

E/F is a lovely friendly fleet and I hope you enjoy flying on it.

That hopefully means we will pick up most of your previous work or if not maybe get the return of other E/F work that went to M/F. Hopefully, otherwise we will be very over crewed!

Hi Ice, you can sign the MF form and decide after what you want to do. The MF assessments will be only at the end of June, so you will have time before that to analyse the EF terms. We should get the TUPE outcome by this Friday.

I know the unions are in final meetings on the best way to communicate the information with us all so hopefully within the next few days!

I have only worked with one crew member that has said they are going to register their interest with mf as she has only been here a few months, the majority of crew opinion is to transfer into EF-I'm very interested to see what will happen to some of the middle eastern routes, really hope we can bring some over to EF. Id also agree and say I would expect at least 500 of us will be joining you xx

Yes, I&S, let's hope the Midle Eastern routes do come to E/F, or we at least get back some of our other Shorthaul work that we lost to M/F.

I hope that BA get the crew numbers right ( that would be a first!) and are fair to all crew and don't leave our fleet over crewed.

Looking forward to flying with you all.

#262  Ba outlines plans for Winter 2012/13  Posted 15/05/2012 at 15:40

http://www.abtn.co.uk/feature/1517361-british-airways-outlines-plans-bmi

Quote:
We have also announced London City to Aberdeen which will offer 15 flights a week and we will transfer Marseilles from Gatwick to Heathrow.”

Other destinations planned include flights from Heathrow to Leeds-Bradford, Rotterdam and Zagreb, subject to reaching agreements with those airports.

The winter will also see the retiming of services as well as adding more frequencies to key BA routes and the beginning of the conversion of short-haul slots to long-haul services.

Overall, BA expects to launch 18 new routes from Heathrow for the coming winter including three domestic, six short-haul and nine mid/long-haul flights. These will include 13 routes currently operated by Bmi.

BA will also add extra capacity on eight existing routes from Heathrow on three domestic, three short-haul and two long-haul routes. Three of these routes are currently operated by Bmi.

No more details have been revealed yet, although the winter schedule is to be announced next month (June).

My guess on the 13 routes being kept are:
DUB, BHD/BFS, SVG, CMN, RAK, BEY, IKA, GYD, FNA, ALA, ADD, KRT, ATQ

Hi I&S i'm in the same position as you thinking of whether to sign that MF paper or not as there's only little time left and no further info on TUPE. I only have till tmrw really as i have to post my MF form and it takes 2 days for the post to arrive in london, but not sure to send it or not?
Dont want BA turning around later and say well u cant choose EF now as you have signed this form even tho i know that MF isnt a contract but it just looks so scary signing that form.

Even if you apply and take the interview, you can still decide not to take the offer of Mixed Fleet and still come to E/F, so don't worry about that Sabreena.

You are being Tuped into BA and that can't change just because you go for an interview. The interview is a two way thing and you can change your mind at any time.' The Star ' specifically asked this question to BA last week and they confirmed that you could change your mind right up to the moment before you signed the M/F contract. Once you sign the actual job offer contract, then it would be too late but up until then you can still change your mind and be Tuped into E/F.
