| Guys you all need to grow up! You ALL work for the same company and your not making BA look like an attractive place to work! At BMI we work together and we get on, we don't bicker over pointless things! Stop being keyboard warriors and crack on with the initial topic! I come on here looking for advice! |

Snap !
Anyways 85% of crew will go to EF as everyday MF box is empty so you will get some new destinations for sure as they not gonna keep so many people without flying and MF so far so good I think with destinations so unless they will bring some mid-haul destinations to MF but I can't see MF crew with 747 going to Freetown and coming back with minimum rest so probably those destinations will fly to WW ... |

"There is no second guessing what BA wil do. Who would have thought they would put MF on the LAX route? Like ATL, they will last a couple of months before BA's regular flyers revolt and it goes back to Legacy."
Keep taking the tablets - the only reason that routes change between fleets is hard economics. MF is saving BA £60million a year over legacy fleet costs, anyone that thinks that either WW or EF has a long term future is quite clearly deluded. That said they will not disappear overnight, however, there will be no external recruitment to either legacy fleet and very limited promotion prospects. The only reason that EF has been offered to BMI crew is the TUPE regulations.
With regard to routes, MF route numbers will slowly grow - both LH and SH as the legacy fleets slowly wither on the vine. There is still time for someone to have a good run at EF and who knows how BA will wind up these legacy fleets as they grow smaller. There may still be a "bribe" or incentive to transfer to MF in the future.
My gut feeling would be to transfer to EF now - take the better T&Cs and see what happens. BA expects to recoup the £10,000 payment costs within 18 months, so if EF lasts longer than that, then the gamble of a transfer to EF will have paid off. Remember that in BA no deal is valid forever - only till the next deal is offered. The unions will have a say in what the next deal may be, so get your feet under the table and start to lobby for whatever it is you want to see happen. That said it is no point asking for what you will never get - like WW/EF being reopened as a fleet - they are simply too costly compared with MF.

It's a shame you got that impression but I can assure you that this is not what its like on-line with MF, and its not at all the impression I get of EF either. Granted a (very small) minority of crew aren't so polite with frosty looks and pursed lips in the CRC but no more so than any other job I've had.
+1 on the welcome too. |

Best piece of advice on this thread to date.
Welcome BMI crew which ever fleet you choose. You have experience and different perspectives which can only be an asset to all at BA. |

Welcome to the world of BA bmidolly...For some reason bickering seems to be standard procedure at BA whether you're on EF/MF or WW!
It's all too much! I've always been of the attitude that we all work for the SAME company and do the same job. So why we bicker like we do is beyond me! It reminds me of school rivals fighting eachother, except we're actually "adults" on this forum.
I feel sorry for any BMI crewmember who reads this as it makes the airline look TERRIBLE. I don't think people like user47429 and bar_steward give the airline a very good impression at all.
Please don't assume that this forum is how it is in the real world, because it really isn't. OK, maybe it is with some bitter people in the company who frankly should probably just retire or go to another airline, but the majority of us are lovely people.
I'm sure no matter what fleet you go on, you will be welcomed with open arms..at least I hope you will. Good luck to you all and hope to fly with you soon :-) |

Good evening B_S
Of course you can "have an opinion."
It's just that rickbrit87 doesn't think your posts "give the airline a very good impression, at all."
He/she is entitled to their opinion as much as you: don't you think?
Have a great day |

Welcome to all our new colleagues!
I think it is you who needs medication Wibble. Legacy fleets like EF are hardly withering on the vine, with an injection of around 500 BMI crew joining. £10,000 is not enough to bribe BMI crew onto MF. Double it to £20K and it still would not be enough.
BA may be saving on MF employee costs directly, but there are many BA exec members who are avoiding routes flown by this fleet. What is the cost of that? BA are moving MF around to confuse its customers.
The legacy fleets will be around for many years to come. The same cannot be said about Mixed Fleet, who may have to be merged or disbanded. |
