Assesment Day - Start to finish 2018

Hi everyone,

I thought I would share my experience at my assessment day with TUI, to help anyone who is feeling the nerves and looking for some tips.

I interviewed in London, The day started at 9.00am ( arrive at least 10 minutes earlier if you can, as the recruiters started to register us in early).

When you are being signed in this is when the recruiter will check for all the documents you are asked to bring and also your reach test, I am only 5ft 2 and I was fine!

Once everyone was signed in the recruiters took us all through and gave us a presentation on TUI, the role of cabin crew and we also introduced ourselves.

After this we was split into two groups and started the first task which was to create an PA and to sell an item, please don't worry about this part. The recruiters explain everything and you will have fun.

We then did the maths test ( take a calculator ) which once again please don't worry, practise some exchange rates and currency conversion and you will be perfect.

I believe after the recruiters do another presentation explaining the process if you are successful and the talent pool.

We then stopped for a break, shortly after the recruiters called some names who had got through to the afternoon and unfortunately some was cut at this point.

If you get through to the afternoon you will take part in a group task, role play and 1 2 1 competency based interview,

The group task is around 5 of you all discussing a problem which is provided on the day, whilst the assessors watch and take notes all I would say at this point is to be yourself, get involved but don't talk over others or try and not take the entire task over. It is not a test but just to see how you work in a team and your communication skills.

It is then on to the role play which is really quick, so be confident and try not to panic. ( Every scenario differs )

Finally the 1 2 1 interview, think of usual customer service interview questions before hand and if you prepare then you will do great, honest!

Important tips from my experience-

Look the part of Cabin Crew - I wore a black blazer and skirt with a white shirt underneath, clear tights and closed in court shoes with my hair tied back.

Smile - Be happy and smile, smile, smile.

Interact - Chat with everyone, you are all in the same position and shows the recruiters you have great communication skills.

BE YOU - Just be yourself, if your passionate and try your best that's all you can do!

I found out 3 days later I had made it into the 2018 Talent Pool!

Massive good luck and share your experiences and outcomes too!

Feel free to ask any questions if you have them!

:-) xx
