#2  6/7 month fixed term contract?? Jet2 and TUI  Posted 02/10/2019 at 14:24
I have just seen that TUI is recruiting for the airport nearest me. At the bottom it says
'Correct at the time of advertisement, some benefits are non-contractual and subject to change. This role is initially offered on a 6-7 month fixed term contract. Automated decision making is in use for the initial stages of this selection process.'

What does this actually mean? After 6/7 months do they just let you go?
I have also heard that Jet2 is the same?
Thanks in advance

I can only answer from my experience at TUI.

After 6 or 7 months your contract terminates.

You are only employed for the Summer season when there are significantly more flights than Winter.

If they like you and you meet selection criteria (no absence, sanctions and enough flight reviews) they might offer you another Summer contract the following year.

If the business requires it, you may be offered an extension to your temporary contract or even a permanent contract however, going on recent evidence this is highly unlikely to happen, despite what you may hear.

Remember, Nil illegitimi carborundum!
